Steph's 80's party. All we're missing is Ralph Macchio and Corey Feldman (circa January '08).

Viet New Year's Festival (circa February '08).

I was literally 10 ft. behind Phil Jackson's head. And sadly enough, the Clips got beat down Reginald Denny style (circa March '08).

The closest we got to the Royal/T maid cafe was the front door (circa April '08).

Do I really need to explain myself on this one (circa April '08)?

There's other events and happenings, but as you know, I'm too inundated(or lazy) to update my LJ in the first place. I paid my $19.95 or whatever it is for premium, so I might as well use it at least a couple times a year. Till then, remember to watch R2E's favorite...

AX '07 PROS & CONS.

PROS:

Steph @ Summer Festival - It was a good turnout. Nice atmosphere. The show was a success!

Anna Tsuchiya - She was great, even went out for an encore. To my surprise, she didn't know much english although she sings quite a few songs fully in english.

Akai Sky - We rocked out to them of course. They keep getting better and better.

Room Party - Mike & Co. always throws great room parties, bar fully stocked. MAFIA was the ish too, although there were shady people. haha.

Running into familiar faces - Yeah, it was spread out, but still got to see some people.

Eateries - There's an abundance of restaurants just on Pine Ave., as opposed to the sparse selection in Anaheim(and all spread out, mind you).

The Scenery - One thing you gotta like about LBCC is the scenery. You can feel the ocean breeze. They got a leg up on Anaheim in regards to that.

CONS:

SKIN - Amidst all that hoopla and high expectations, a 5-song set including a 15 band introduction is all we get? For those that paid for premier seating, I bet they were a bit disappointed.

The heat - It was hella hot, but it is July after all.

The Cops aka the fuzz aka the pigs aka... - Yeah, they had to reach that end of the month quota, so they were out in full force. It wasn't a problem, personally. Just that, I'm sure a few people got cited unjustly.

Little time at the exhibit hall - I was barely there, didn't even finish half of it.

Everything is spread out - Although I can't say this is truly a downside 'cause it is good exercise, but for many people it was.

CONCLUSION:

All in all, AX 2007 was a good time. Despite being under the weather, I enjoyed it. I like the fact that the crowds get more diverse each year. LA Convention Center next year will be something else. I'm not quite ready for that and all the congested traffic nonsense we will witness. But in the end, people will come.

...The Yay Area is jumpin', jumpin'. This could possibly be the greatest upset in NBA playoff history(even more than Denver punkin' Seattle in '94). B-Diddy is playin' at the same level he did in New Orleans a few years back, but now he's finally gettin the props he deserves.

But still, the Mavs could pull off a comeback (a la what the Suns did to the Lakers last year).

I guess it had to come sooner or later.

Anyway, now that football season is over, the good thing is my attention is 100% on basketball(NBA and college). The Clips are finally starting to gel(aside from a possible, sad loss to the Knicks tonight).

And now, on to the pics from our trip to Austin, TX for Ikki-con:

All in all, it was a good time. The turnout for the Con was more than double what they expected, so yes, it was like sardines in a can, accellerated Anime LA style. But her fan's support was immense. Always a good thing. And so, we might be back for another con, which means this time around, we'll get to scour the city a little bitter. Peace, love, and Tex Mex!
